Hey guys just wanted to say thanks for the responses to my post/question, tbh didnt expect to hear anything at all as far as feedback went especially not so quickly...so thanks for that.

About my experience with Directors Cut- I'm actually new, completely new, to Deus. I just built my first PC in August 13. Before that I was just on my crapbox/xbox360 for a number of years( and hating the shit quality of its games for a long time prior to going to pc) not knowing what I really was missing w/PC and steam games and the like. I bought the Deus Pack during a Greenmangaming.com sale, and then when I saw I could upgrade HR it for $5 I went for it.

So, speaking from a former console players perspective relative to console games(embarassing I know), I really liked Deus HR Directors Cut. In fact its actually the only single player game I've enjoyed in many years. And the commentaries you can turn on are sometimes quite entertaining in and of themselves.

I do however see where you are coming from with your criticisms of the game(chocolate bars are pretty funny). I have also read alot of comments via message boards and articles how its not quite as good as the regular HR as far as graphics go and patching. So definately understand I'm looking at it from a different perspecitive. Nonetheless I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for the responses.
@Scientific Gamer- Thanks for the blog, I definately like reading non-biased real info/opinions about games, and these days its ever harder to find. So thanks for providing some good reading.

Pretty much this. I bought it in a moment of madness, but while I still really like the aesthetics of the game I don't really have the drive to play through the whole thing again. So no, unfortunately; all that I can say is if there were any differences between the Director's Cut and the regular version then they weren't readily apparent in the first three hours of play.

I spent the $5 for the Director's Cut, but then I realized that I'd have to start a whole new game from the beginning. That's a big chunk of game to replay just to find out whether the boss fights still suck.

I don't know that I have the time in my life to replay a game that could still end up making me mad. Life's to short and my Steam queue is too long. It's a damned shame too because I really liked the game mechanics.

This review nails it.

I finally settled in to play this game a couple weeks ago and was really enjoying it up until I reached the boss fight.

I quit playing after getting trashed in the boss fight a dozen times over. I know that I could eventually complete it, but the experience is completely ruined for me.

This is the single greatest pet peeve of mine. Why any game developer would encourage me to spend hours working on one set of game mechanics only to be thrown into a boss fight that requires completely different skills is beyond me. It's an instant deal-breaker for me.

The hacking minigame was becoming a real grind for me too. I know that there are other ways around without it, but wouldn't it have just been better to make rooms/terminals either hackable or unhackable? Collecting Worm or Nuke software felt esoteric next to the other game mechanics.

And don't even get me started on the chocolate bars.
