I was playing through HL2 recently, actually, and I was surprised to hear the re-use of the Half-Life music. I'd completely forgotten, but it was so appropriate.

(In Half-Life it plays when you reach the corridor leading to the labs where you first pick up the Gauss Gun/Tau Cannon. There's a big fight going on between aliens and marines that you blunder right into the middle of. Half-Life was a game with many jaw-dropping moments, but that's the one that's stuck with me over the years mainly because of the music.)

Wow. You picked my absolute favorite track from Half-Life. I admit, I did not know at first which corridor encounter you meant and I am ashamed of that. My excuse is that I fell so in love with Half-Life 2 that for me this music became immortalized and forever associated with the lighthouse battle. "Drop ship coming in!"

Good move on their part to reuse the soundtrack. One of the best of all time. Right alongside Command & Conquer.
