Agreed 100% and there's so much more...

One thing that doesn't appear to be mentioned is that why does everyone go out of their way to be a massive arse to David the android? David is very obviously on the verge of GRINDING HIS TEETH when everyone continuously reminds him he's "not a real boy".

They even seem to take a perverse pleasure in putting him down, like they KNOW he doesn't like it. Were they trying to push him over the edge? But on the other hand, if he's just a glorified toaster without emotions, why bother being so venomous towards him?

Weland himself says he is the "closest thing to a real son" - a very warm and loving comment, which is then immediately followed up with "but he's actually an unfeeling soulless robot, so screw him". So which one is it? Do you love him or hate him? "Hey look, my incredible technology has allowed me to make a replica human - now watch me kick him over and over again until he becomes a psychopath."

Found this post with web search of "Prometheus Crap Movie".

Just saw this for the first time. Saw Noomi Rapace on hulu. Okay. I had no idea it was Aliens universe/prequel whatever. It started out feeling like a decent movie. I was expecting something like Arrival/Contact. It was okay right up until the dream/memory sequence...shot with multiple cameras. Oh yes, my dreams always involve alternating focus shots of both myself and my father...soon after it was just clunk, clunk, clunk on the way down.

I got a bad twinge with acid blood from the first snake. Wow, is Ridley Scott really going to go there again? They did that to death in the "Alien" movies. The movie was so lame, they knew it didn't fit into "Alien" so much, that they had to put an actual proto-alien at the end. Watched the whole thing in one sit and didn't feel a vibe of Alien or Aliens the whole time. Not scary, just dumb.

The only other thing I will add, I do like how the bad guys, as always, were Evil Bald White Guys. Even space aliens.

I watched this fllm for the second time recently, and in conjunction with this review. I must've been seriously drunk when I watched it the first time, as I the special effects and music overrode what I now realise is the sheer awfulness of the plot. I found it hilarious this time - in a My God This Is So Awful It's Funny kinda way - because science, in the intervening near-100 years has clearly devolved into the Poke It And See What Happens methodology. However, the funniest thing of all - which never really registered on first viewing (like I said, I must've been seriously drunk) - was Idris Elba's truly godawful American accent!

Finally got around to watching this movie. And was excited to watch a good science fiction film after seeing all the high overall reviews on rotten tomatoes. Wish I hadn't wasted the time watching it. The first quarter of the film for me was semi-enjoyable, albeit with the shallow characters...a little bit of an interesting premise to begin the story with. A human robot, cool ship, etc. Then they start exploring the ruins with the level of professionalism that you'd expect out of unsupervised children left to their own devices. No protocol whatsoever, which ruins the feel of the film.
Things go wrong, the highly untrained crew makes it incredibly worse, and then they die. And you could care less if they live or die. There is no draw there to make you feel connected to them and their journey whatsoever. The guy calling the alien snake creature as if its a cuddly duck...WTF?!?! Up until that he was paranoid about everything going on around him. And then he sees an snake alien and decides to try to cuddle with it?? The red haired dude being a whiny brat nearly the entire time on screen?!? What was the point of that? At that point, it was all over for me, and the rest of the evening was spent longing for an actual movie, and it never happened. The captain calls to open the rear door after seeing video movement from the dude that just got roasted. REALLY? That's your first instinct, is to open the main door to let a guy into your ship that everyone just saw go up like a tiki torch? No, that's probably fine... Dissecting an alien head without any type of mouth, skin or eye protection?!? On and on it went. I'd rate that amongst the worst movies I've seen in my life. What could have been an interesting story, filled with crap uninteresting characters made this a total waste of time for me.

I was really glad to get the movie over and get to bed after that cinematic turd...

Here's something;
35,000 year old cave paintings. Ancient civilisations. Mysterious giant beings pointing to their planet...'AN INVITATION'. A magic-holo-projector-Rubik's cube (To prove all that shit). Finally, a '$Trillion Dollar' mission, to................
............................The wrong fucking planet (Not even LV426).

Damon Lindelof strikes again, with his asshole writing.

Let's generate a carefully plotted departure story, then when things 'need' further explanatio... 'I know Alien goo'...
Then the Captain'll say 'Weapons of mass destruction, it got out, the end'.
"Yea but what about the explanatio...."
'Then the co-pilots will offer to die with the captain, cos he 'Can't fly for shit'. Never mind he abandoned his men AFTER a contact on radar, just for a shag'

Damon, the explanation;
Oh Yea! We'll have Miss clueless and Davidhead take off, to find the RIGHT planet. Hey, what about that? Happy now??

But what about this wrong planet? $hut-up... $equel.....

I just watched this movie. What absolute garbage. No redeeming qualities whatsoever. Absolute lowest common denominator nonsense crap.

Two thoughts (from someone who knows nothing of this film outside of having just viewed it)...

1. What's with the ending? Was this actually supposed to be a prequel to Alien? I mean, that thing was an Alien alien right?

2. That woman, Naoomi idiot scientist lady or whatever she was called, was saved by her little tenticle baby that she herself was almost killed by.. Super Metroid?
