Life's still good. I can deal with no longer wanting to visit RPS. There's John Walker's Buried Treasures, and there's Hentzau's top-tier dissections. This may speak more to the limitations in my own knowledge of writers, but I don't know anyone who describes a game's mechanics (their successes, their failures, the ways they can be exploited when relevant) as well as this guy.

When the Death Stranding review appeared after months without new posts, I cleared a spot in my schedule and got comfortable, snack and blanket and all, to really savour it. Now we get several posts a week. I won't take it for granted! Even the comments are nice to read. I expect I'll never see a lynch mob here. Thanks for the safe, pleasant space.

It's funny and sad that getting Star Wars back ultimately led LucasArts to develop a reputation for churning out licensed product that was a far cry from the beloved, inventive games they made their name with. By the time Disney dissolved them it was no great loss.
